Four Indiana Women Seek to Ease the Stress of Event Coordination
Carmel, IN: August 13, 2008 – A new solution is now
available for individuals planning events in the Indianapolis Metro
area. In response to the growing complexity of organizing major
events, four women have formed an alliance of complimentary
businesses in Carmel’s Arts & Design District called
circle•the•date.
Comprised of event planner Jennifer Farrell Wells, photographer
Morgan Matters, floral designer Tiffany Mullen, and graphic designer
Heather Lapham Kuhn, circle•the•date hopes to simplify and
streamline the event planning process by bringing many of the major
elements together under one roof.
The model is unique in that each woman has maintained her own
business identity, but will also operate under the new group name.
By working together, the four will share their space, resources, and
referrals - strengthening each business, and providing better
service to the consumer.
“I’ve restructured my own business model,” states Ms. Mullen. “By
concentrating on events rather than day-to-day arranging, I can be
more focused in my own marketing efforts, while also having the
ability to help my partners develop their businesses.”
Although committed to assisting each other through referrals and
advice, the four also acknowledge there will be a necessity at times
for each of them to work with a competitor to one of the other
women. “We have an understanding,” commented Ms. Matters, “that this
is a non-exclusive arrangement. We’re each responsible for making
choices that benefit our own clients and business, as well as the
group.”
Events, especially weddings, have become more complex and
expensive, especially over the last 10 years. By bringing several of
the key elements together under one roof, circle•the•date will be
able to simplify the process, as well as help prevent extra expenses
resulting from miscommunication between vendors.
