State Representative Barnes brings Local Mom and Pops together
to Benefit Law Enforcement Scholarship
Indianapolis, IN: March 26, 2009 – State Representative John Barnes (HD
#89) has put together a special event inviting all the local
businesses on the east side to come together for a special taste of
the “East Side Mom and Pops” to increase awareness and raise funds
for the Timothy “Jake” Laird Scholarship fund. The event taking
place on April 19 at Community Life Center on the east side of
Indianapolis will generate buzz of the local economy as the local
businesses assemble from 12:00 to 4:00pm to offer samples of their
wares.
Donations will be gathered for a scholarship benefiting Warren
Central Graduates going into Law Enforcement. Officer Timothy “Jake”
Laird, a Warren Graduate died in the line of duty on August 18th
2004. In his memory Representative Barnes hopes getting local
businesses together will support the law enforcement scholarship
while highlighting the importance of our local small businesses and
neighborhood restaurants.
Businesses from all over the east side of Indianapolis will join us
on April 19th for “A Taste of the East Side Mom and Pops”.
Representative Barnes is seeking the support of this important
scholarship through donations and community involvement for the
