ComedySportz Offers Spring Improv Classes for Adults
Eight Week Comedy Courses Available for All Levels of Experience
Indianapolis, IN: March 28, 2009 – Think you're funny?
Want to get more comfortable with performing in front of large
groups? Take a beginner, intermediate, or advanced improv workshop
at ComedySportz Indianapolis, the city's only professional
improvisational comedy theatre.
Level 1: Beginning Improv - will be offered on eight
Mondays from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, starting March 30, 2009
IMPROV 101 - This workshop is for beginners with no practical
experience in theatrical improvisation. This workshop will cover
basics such as: overcoming inhibitions; listening; agreement;
working as an ensemble; full use of your body; as well as starting
to find characters.
Level 2: Intermediate Improv - running for eight Sundays from
5:30 pm to 7:30 pm, starting March 29, 2009.
IMPROV 202 - This intermediate level workshop is designed for
people who have completed Improv 101, or who have a limited amount
of experience with improvisation. The focus of this workshop will be
on creating and sustaining improvised scenes. It will also further
explore improvising characters and environment, as well as
introducing elements of rhyming and wordplay.
Level 3: Advanced Improv - running for eight Tuesdays from
7:00 pm to 9:00 pm, starting March 31, 2009.
IMPROV 303 - This is a performance-level workshop designed
for people who have completed Improv 202 or who have at least some
experience performing improvisation. In addition to introducing
improvisation with music, this workshop will teach styles, games,
and approaches to performing for a live audience. This workshop will
culminate in a final performance to which the students may invite
family and friends.
Introduction To Long Form Improvisation - held on eight
Sundays from 3:00 pm to 5:00pm, starting March 29,2009
This course is designed for anyone interested in learning the craft
of scene-based improvisation. By slowing down our work, we will
focus acutely on the improv fundamentals of listening, agreement and
patience. We will not look to inject our scenes with “funny” ideas
but rather find the patterns and relationships that will build to a
comedic crescendo. Students in the class will learn a number of
Chicago-style improvisational forms as they learn to produce honest
and realistic scenes from scratch.
All workshops are $195.00. If you are interested, please contact
us before March 27, 2009. All workshops are eight weeks, each class
is two hours. Contact ComedySportz Indianapolis at
