Building Employees

Rainmakers is excited to offer a monthly roundtable for small business leaders to convene on workplace talent topics. It is more important than ever to be strategic in attracting, engaging and developing employees in order to build a healthy company.

Ideal attendees for this session are small business owners or human resource managers.

Sessions are 90 minutes and include introductions and networking along with a workplace talent learning topic and interactive roundtable discussion. All participants share their key takeaways in action steps prior to the conclusion of the session.

August Topic: The Customer Does Not Come First, The Mental Health and Well-Being of Your Employees Does!

The problem of work-related stress was common in the workplace before the two recent pandemics: Covid-19, and the outcry against social injustice, racism, and police brutality. The impact on the mental health and psychological well-being of these two pandemics on employees in general, and employees of color in particular, has exacerbated the problem.

Participants will learn:

  • Supervisory and management practices that contribute to unhealthy company culture.

  • Psychological consequences that accrue for employees who do not feel comfortable talking about their stress or a personal issue to a supervisor.

  • Effective supervisory practices that help decrease workplace stress and boost employee motivation and engagement.

  • Factors that contribute to employees feeling more confident and equipped to perform their job well.

  • The unique consequences of Covid-19 and Racial Trauma on Black and brown employees.
