The Intersection: Story of God and Business Owners
August Topic: Being a Great Steward of God’s Blessings Part 2
A continuation of how God’s image that is being renewed in us as business owners is to be reflected in the work that God has given us to steward. As we look at God’s story, and our place in this world as image-bearers, we begin to see a greater opportunity we have in stewarding God’s Blessing through our business and in this world. Join us as we speak to relationships and how the image of God in our lives changes how we treat others as we do business in this world.
Our Speaker:
David Cederquist
David Cederquist has been serving in underserved neighborhoods for 14 years. His calling in urban ministry and entrepreneurial spirit has brought Brookside Community Church on the near eastside of Indianapolis to become a church for some of the most disadvantaged in our city. With community development and the gospel in center focus, Brookside has launched programs that serves men and women in their reentry, children and teens in a youth development strategy to assist in defying the odds of trauma, and has developed $2 million in transitional and permanent housing. Brookside CDC’s newest initiative, UpRise Indy Inc., is a social enterprise of three businesses to create on the job training opportunities for our cities most vulnerable. Brookside Community Church and CDC are becoming an important part of God’s kingdom building efforts as the church engages the difficulty issues poverty and seeks to alleviate in a gospel-centered way.
