Topic: The Great Equalizer
“The Great Equalizer” centers around those who consider themselves “underdogs” in their chosen arenas. Maybe it’s down to not having the right education, finances, support, etc…, but I’m here to tell you there is ALWAYS a way to even out the playing field. Kristian will focus on the things each of us can do in pursuit of our goals that our biggest competitors haven’t even thought of!
Our Speaker: Kristian Aleixo
Kristian Aleixo is a professional race car driver on IndyCar’s “Road to Indy” ladder; one day, he aspires to compete in the Indianapolis 500. Beyond this, Kristian has authored the autobiography, “My Life in Story: The Outside Groove,” with a foreword by Willy T. Ribbs, and the children’s book, “Faster and Faster,” with an introduction by Robby Unser. In addition, he stars in his own reality TV show, produced by Sharp Entertainment, the makers of “Jersey Shore,” and “90 Day Fiancé.” Kristian hopes to use this platform to bring much needed attention to his off-track passions, including homelessness (which Kristian suffered throughout high school after losing his mother to diabetes when he was age 13), Type-1 diabetes (which Kristian was diagnosed with during a tour of duty in Iraq), and mental health for veterans (Kristian served in the U.S. Army). Furthermore, Kristian is a regular volunteer at the Children’s Bureau and various children’s hospitals; in addition, he is working on a foundation for kids with disabilities who want to become professional athletes.
