Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD)
Asset-Based Community Development focuses on effectively using existing community assets in neighborhoods in order to address problems, work toward shared goals, and build strong and organized communities. INRC will share their philosophy through an interactive activity on how highlighting each community’s strengths also creates a structure for transformation to match.
Maury Plambeck is the Director of Neighborhood Services at the Indianapolis Neighborhood Resource Center. He manages the Indianapolis Community Building Institute and he has organized and facilitated individual courses for neighborhood organizing, appreciative inquiry, planning and project management.
Ashlee Weaver is the Training and Engagement Manager in the Indianapolis Neighborhood Resource Center. She has facilitated training for AmeriCorps members, IUPUI, Near East Area Renewal, Prosperity Indiana, Purdue Extension, The Mandela Washington Fellowship, and numerous neighborhoods in Indianapolis.
